How to buy and redeem Lebara gift cards

· · 4 min

What a Lebara gift card actually does

A Lebara eVoucher is a prepaid top-up code. You buy it, get a digital code by email, and enter it on your Lebara account or in the Lebara app to add credit. That credit pays for calls, texts, data, or whatever plan you have on the line. It is not a physical card. Nothing ships.

Lebara operates as an MVNO in several European countries, and the vouchers we sell are in euros. If your Lebara account is in a euro-zone country like the Netherlands, France, or Germany, the face value maps directly. If you are topping up a UK Lebara line, the voucher still works but Lebara converts it at their internal rate.

There are also Data Pass vouchers, which are a bit different. Instead of general credit, they unlock a specific data bundle for a set period. I will cover both types below.

Denominations and prices

We carry several face values. Prices are in USD on our store, and the amounts below are approximate since exchange rates shift slightly over time.

The standard eVouchers add flexible credit to your balance. The Data Pass options are for when you specifically need a data bundle rather than general top-up credit, and they tend to offer better per-gigabyte value if data is all you are after.

How to buy a Lebara eVoucher on BlinkCodes

The purchase flow is the same as buying any other digital code on our store. You pick the denomination, pay, and the code lands in your inbox.

  1. Go to the Lebara gift card section on blinkcodes.com.
  2. Choose the denomination you want, whether that is a standard eVoucher or a Data Pass.
  3. Add it to your cart and proceed to checkout.
  4. Complete payment using your preferred method.
  5. Check your email for the code. It usually arrives within minutes.

If the email does not show up, check your spam folder first. If it is still missing, contact support at support@blinkcodes.com and include your order number so we can trace it quickly.

How to redeem the code on your Lebara line

Redemption is straightforward but varies slightly depending on whether you use the website, the app, or a USSD code on your phone. The core idea is the same everywhere. You enter the voucher code and the credit or data bundle gets applied.

  1. Open the Lebara app or go to the Lebara self-service website for your country.
  2. Log in with your Lebara phone number and account credentials.
  3. Navigate to the top-up or recharge section.
  4. Enter the voucher code exactly as you received it in your email from BlinkCodes.
  5. Confirm the transaction and wait for the confirmation message on screen.

You should get a text from Lebara confirming the top-up within a minute or two. If you do not, double-check that you typed the code correctly, since these codes are long and easy to mistype. For Data Pass vouchers specifically, the bundle activates immediately upon successful redemption, so you can start using data right away.

Some users prefer redeeming via USSD. On most Lebara lines you can dial a short code, enter the voucher number when prompted, and press call. The exact USSD string depends on your country, so check Lebara's local help page if you want to go that route. I find the app method easier, but USSD works well when you have no data connection at all and need to top up before you can get online.

Picking the right denomination

The EUR 5 and EUR 10 vouchers are good for keeping a line alive if you just need to prevent it from expiring or want a small cushion of credit. If you are running a monthly plan that costs around 15 or 20 euros, matching the voucher to your plan price makes the most sense.

The EUR 50 eVoucher is the largest we carry, and it suits people who want to top up once and not think about it for a while. Frequent travelers who rely on Lebara for roaming in Europe often grab the higher denominations for that reason.

For data specifically, the Data Pass XS at about 6 USD and Data Pass S at about 11 USD are purpose-built. Use them when you know you need data and nothing else. The standard eVouchers give you more flexibility, since the credit can pay for anything Lebara charges for, including international calls which are a big part of why people choose Lebara in the first place.

Things worth knowing before you buy

Voucher codes expire. Lebara typically gives you a window to redeem after purchase, so do not sit on a code for months expecting it to work forever. Redeem it soon after buying.

Also, make sure your Lebara account is active before applying a voucher. If the SIM has been deactivated due to long inactivity, a top-up code will not bring it back to life. You would need to contact Lebara directly to reactivate the line first, then apply the credit.

Finally, the prices on our store are in USD, but the voucher face value is in euros. The conversion happens at checkout on our end. Once you redeem on Lebara, the euro value is what hits your account. No surprises there, but it is worth understanding the two-currency flow so you know exactly what you are paying for.
