How to buy and redeem Netflix gift cards without overpaying
Why people use Netflix gift cards instead of cards
You want to watch Netflix but you do not want to hand the company your credit card details. Maybe your bank blocks recurring international charges. Maybe you are topping up a family member's account in another country. Or you just prefer paying upfront and forgetting about it. Gift cards solve all of these problems. They work as account credit, not a one-month lock-in.
The catch is regional restrictions. Netflix ties gift cards to the currency and region of the account where you redeem them. A card in Brazilian reals will only apply to a Brazilian Netflix account. A card in UAE dirhams only works on a UAE account. So before you buy anything, figure out which region your Netflix account is in. Check your account settings under the plan section and the country will be listed there.
What denominations we carry and what they cost
We currently stock Netflix gift cards in two regional currencies. Prices below are approximate conversions to USD, since that is what we charge at checkout.
For UAE dirham cards, we have three options. The AED 100 card runs about 27 USD, which covers roughly one month of the standard plan in that region. The AED 500 card is about 136 USD and lasts several months depending on your tier. The AED 1000 card costs about 272 USD. That is the largest single top-up we offer for Netflix, good for nearly a full year on the basic tier or about six months on premium.
For Brazilian real cards, we carry five denominations. The BRL 35 card is about 7 USD. The BRL 50 card is about 10 USD. The BRL 70 card is about 14 USD. The BRL 100 card is about 20 USD. The largest, BRL 150, is about 30 USD. I suggest starting with a smaller denomination if you want to test the redemption process before committing to a larger balance.
How to buy a Netflix gift card from us
- Go to the Netflix gift card section on our store and pick the denomination that matches your account region.
- Add the card to your cart and proceed to checkout.
- Enter your email address carefully. The redemption code gets delivered there.
- Complete payment in USD.
- Check your inbox for an email containing the gift card code and PIN.
If the email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder first. If it is not there either, write to support@blinkcodes.com and include your order number so we can trace it.
How to redeem the code on your Netflix account
- Sign in to your Netflix account on a web browser, not the mobile app.
- Go to your account page and look for the gift card or promo code section.
- Enter the code exactly as it appears in the email, including any hyphens or spaces.
- Click the redeem button and wait for the confirmation message.
- Check your updated account balance on the billing page.
The credit applies instantly in most cases. Netflix uses this balance for your next billing cycle instead of charging your card. If your balance runs out partway through a month, Netflix charges your regular payment method for the remainder. Keep an eye on the balance if you are trying to avoid card charges entirely.
Things to watch out for
Region mismatch is the single most common issue I see. People buy a BRL card and try to redeem it on a US account, and it does not work. Netflix will not convert the card or transfer it to another region. You are stuck with it in the currency you bought. So verify your account region before purchasing, not after.
Another thing. Gift card credit does not expire, but it also is not refundable once redeemed. If you apply a large card to an account and then cancel your subscription, the balance stays on the account for if and when you reactivate. You cannot withdraw it to a bank or transfer it to another Netflix profile.
If you are buying a card for someone else, just forward them the email with the code. They can redeem it on their own account the same way. The only requirement is that their account region matches the card currency.
A practical example. You have a sibling studying in the UAE with a Netflix account registered there. You buy the AED 100 card for about 27 USD, forward the code, and they apply it to their account. Their next month is covered without them needing to enter payment details. Simple as that.
